Jesus advised that we consider the log in our own eye before we deal with the speck in another’s eye. Whatever failure or assault we hate in others, we must hate in ourselves as well. If we hate their sin more than our own, we will always be unrighteous. But if we hate the sin in our own hearts more than what we see in theirs, we will grow in the quiet. patient sorrow of true righteous anger.
